Dr William Beare
Clinical Lead
Bill Beare is Clinical Lead for the Derriford Dental Education Facility. He is a Qualified Dentist and Specialist in Restorative Dentistry. He qualified at Guy’s Hospital London in 1974 and began his teaching career in 1975 attending a full time course at the Institute of Education. He lectured at Guy’s Hospital in removeable prosthodontics for 7 years and spent time in general dental practice. He became a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry in 1996. He holds a number of postgraduate qualifications including an MSc in Periodontology, a Diploma in Restorative Dentistry and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. In 2024 he was made an Honorary Fellow of the College of General Dentistry. He is an Officer of the Most Venerable Order of St John bestowed on him for services to military dentistry.
