Marina Bozic

Marina Bozic is the Lead Research Dental Nurse at Peninsula Dental Social Enterprise (PDSE), where she leads and supports the delivery of clinical research within primary dental care and community healthcare settings. She works closely with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate research studies from set-up through to completion, ensuring they are delivered in accordance with regulatory, ethical, and governance requirements.

Her research interests focus on improving oral health outcomes, reducing health inequalities, and generating evidence to support patient-centred care and service development. She has extensive experience in participant recruitment, informed consent processes, data collection and management, study coordination, protocol implementation, and research governance. Through her work, she has contributed to the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of commercial and non-commercial research studies within dental and healthcare settings.

To date, she has worked on a range of nationally and internationally recognised studies, including PROGRESS, Enhance-D, The BREATH Study, INDICATE-2, CHOICE, EXIST, the Haleon Toothpaste Study, and the Haleon Denture Study. Her involvement has included supporting study set-up, participant recruitment, clinical data collection, study coordination, regulatory compliance, and ensuring high-quality delivery throughout the research process.

As Lead Research Dental Nurse, she plays a key role in promoting a positive research culture across the organisation, supporting clinicians, research participants, and external collaborators to facilitate high-quality study delivery. Her contribution to the Enhance-D study helped PDSE become one of the highest recruiting sites in the United Kingdom, demonstrating her ability to coordinate complex research activity while maintaining excellent participant engagement and study compliance.

Alongside her research delivery responsibilities, she supports undergraduate dental students within clinical teaching environments, helping to promote research awareness and evidence-based practice among future healthcare professionals.

She has contributed to peer-reviewed publications and audit projects, including work relating to clinical documentation and quality improvement within dental education.

Through her work, she is committed to advancing evidence-based dentistry, supporting inclusive and patient-focused research, and contributing to improvements in oral healthcare delivery through high-quality clinical research.
