Alistair Harwood

Alistair graduated from Cardiff Dental School in 2013 and joined PDSE at the start of 2026. Since graduating, Alistair has had a diverse career with experience in clinical and non-clinical settings. His clinical experience includes working in high need areas in Wales and England, in general practice and community clinics in the Welsh valleys, and Lancashire, as well as working as a senior house officer in oral surgery and oral medicine at the University Dental Hospital in Cardiff. Dentistry has taken Alistair further afield than the UK; he gained international experience in rural Queensland providing a range of treatments in private dentistry.

In the corporate sector, Alistair held a leadership role at Align Technology™, the company manufacturing Invisalign® clear aligners. Whilst at Align Technology, Alistair worked as the Clinical Relations and Education Manager for the UK business, designing and implementing education programs on clear aligners and digital dentistry across multiple media.

Outside of dentistry, Alistair is currently studying at the University of Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership (CISL) for an MSt in Sustainability Leadership and is a Trustee for the charity Tide and Time Bell, an organisation aiming to celebrate and reinforce connections within and between local communities and their environment.
