Peninsula Dental Social Enterprise CIC (PDSE) supports the National Apprenticeship programme and is delighted that they have two new apprentices, Leanne Tregidgo and Milly Woodall, who have chosen to embark on a career in dental nursing through an apprenticeship at the Devonport facility.

Robert Witton, Director of Social Engagement & Community-based Dentistry at PDSE says: “PDSE is delighted to support dental nurse apprenticeships which provide skills and training for local people into the dental profession.

As a social enterprise dental service provider, community is at the heart of our business. Recent apprentice graduates have received outstanding feedback from their new employers. This is a real credit to the programme we deliver in partnership with local further education institutions.”

A dental nurse provides ‘chair-side support’ for the dental team, which includes dentists, dental therapists, hygienists and technicians. The role is regulated by the General Dental Council (GDC).

Leanne says: “Having been working at PDSE as a Dental Administrator and Receptionist for the last two years I developed a genuine interest in dentistry and decided a career in dental nursing was what I wanted to pursue. PDSE provide exceptional training and opportunities, I wouldn’t have trained anywhere else!”

Milly adds: “The PDSE is an outstanding start to my dream career in dental nursing. The PDSE has a wealth of knowledge in both training and helping the community. I am very excited to start my Trainee Dental Nursing journey with the PDSE.”
